Meet The Team

Andrew Goldie

Andy is a founder and trustee of 999 RE:SET, with an appetite for adventure and passion for good mental health and physical wellbeing. 

 

With more than 30 years' operating in the outdoors, Andy has continually challenged his ability to learn and operate safely while having fun. Andy is comfortable training in a variety of environments, from the snow-covered mountains of Canada, summiting 4000m peaks in the Alps, and Ice climbing in Norway to operating in the jungle of Belize whilst serving in the Army.

 

Andy has a passion for the Scottish mountains and can be found walking and climbing his way around the amazing landscape or canoeing on the remote Scottish lochs and the beautiful Moray coast. 

 

Andy is currently a volunteer with REACT disaster response and a serving operational Watch Commander in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

James Traynor

James joined the 999 RE:SET team as a trustee, eager to combine his enthusiasm for positive mental health and the outdoors. 

​

James passion for the outdoors developed growing up in the Scottish Islands. He was introduced to the Scottish mountains as Royal Marines Reservist in the Winter of 2000 and has felt at home there since.

​

A keen mountain athlete and runner, James has enjoyed success across a range of disciplines.  Highlights include a number of UK Fire Service road running championships, and multiple ultra marathon podium finishes, notably a 1st place in the Glasgow to Edinburgh Ultra. No longer competing, James remains active on the Ultrarunning scene, coaching, crewing and encouraging from the sidelines.​​

James is a serving Watch Commander and Fire Investigation Officer in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Keith Thomson

999 RE:SET's lead mountain guide, Keith has been hiking and scrambling in the Scottish mountains for over thirty years. 

​

A qualified Mountain Leader and former Mountain Rescue team member, Keith has completed over 250 Munros including the the Cuillin Ridge, Glencoe, Torridon, Glenshiel and the Nevis range across all seasons. Keith is passionate about introducing people to the mountains, sharing knowledge, experiences and enjoying life in the outdoors.

Keith is a Prison Officer of 25 years service. Within that role he has worked as a physical education instructor for 16 years, giving him an acute understanding of how to utilise physical activity to benefit mental wellbeing.

Kerryn Kirkpatrick

A charity trustee with more than 25 years of experience in, marketing,communications and. fundraising.

​

Kerryn, whose partner is a member of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, was inspired to join 999 RE:SET, recognising the vital support we can provide to emergency responders and their families.
